Kids Go For 42

Go for 42! Mango Kids Fun Run:
This initiative is targeted towards students from kindergarten to grade 8. In this challenge, the goal is for the students to run or walk 42km over the last 5 weeks of school. Each classroom receives a poster for students to keep track of their kilometers. For each 5km the student completes, they receive a colorful shoe tag. Students from all 23 schools are then invited to take part in the “Mango Kids Fun Run” to complete the final 2.2km together as a group. The run starts at 11am at the Linden Rec Center on Sunday, June 23rd. Students can pre-register with their school or on the day of the event but it is important for each participant to confirm their presence on the day of the run event if they pre-registered with their school. Each student participating in the “Mango Kids Fun Run” will get a mango t-shirt and a medal. Parents are welcome to run with their children and strollers are permitted. This event is offered at no cost because of the generous contribution of the following sponsors and partners: Province of NB – Sports and Recreation Branch, Rotary Club of Chatham, Newcastle Recreation and Leisure, Kinsmen Club of Miramichi, Fornebu Lumber, Shoppers Drug Mart Douglastown, Sobeys Douglastown, Miramichi City Recreation Department and Rock N’Run Miramichi.

Registration begins at 10am at the Linden Rec Center (beside the Civic Center in Newcastle).
